ALICE SWEET ALICE releases Fifth Album and Video after 2 Year Hiatus
Cauldron Soundwerx Productions is proud to announce internationally known Alt Rockers, Alice Sweet Alice (ASA), have returned after a 2 year hiatus, with a new lineup, completely new songs and a brand new album. ASA will have their first show since summer of 2014 – an ALL AGES SHOW – at All Star Rock Bar on April 23, 2016 and release “Viola Organista…and Other Impossible Dreams” (“Viola”). Production is wrapping on the first single and video for the album “Daredevil”, with accompanying video shot and produced by Japanese videographer Yohei Ishihama, which will be released the week of April 6th. “Viola” will be released on multiple formats including digital download, CD, cassette tape and vinyl.
The “new Alice Sweet Alice” features classic singer Ali Kat on vocals who has foregone her piano for a purely frontwoman persona. ASA has added two guitarists, Ryan Shaddix and Shadron Dennis, along with a tour-de-force drummer named Chris Poje. Of course, Scott Martinez is still at the helm on bass, but has also incorporated a pedalboard to play synths and is no longer the band’s co-vocalist.
Scott says, “It was an daunting task to – essentially – start over, after the success we had, but after we did, I realized that perhaps the band had become too comfortable in its’ songwriting and direction, and that maybe this was the best thing that could have possibly happened to us. This experience not only brought in new influences to the music, but has really redefined what and who Alice Sweet Alice is. I’m happy and amazed to report, that ASA has written the best songs, and best album of our entire history!” Bandleader Scott Martinez became a caregiver to his father during the last months of his Dad’s life in 2014, and therefore the band was placed on hold. Due to the time lapse, some members decided to part ways and move to other pastures. Subsequently, Scott decided that ASA would reboot, and after multiple trials and extended collaboration, the group’s new lineup was established.
The All Star Rock Bar is at 7210 NE 43rd St, Kansas City, Missouri. Tickets are $7 at the door and $10 for 21 and under. The band’s live shows will not include any previous ASA material the band ever performed live, so this will be a unique experience for those that have seen the band in the past. ASA will be starting their 2016 tour with shows in the Midwest, currently being arranged. Tour schedule is being posted at the band’s main website: http://www.alicesweetalice.com.
Alice Sweet Alice is available for interviews, and pre-release copies of Viola are available by request. Please contact Samantha Curtis via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
